My name is August Fichardt and I grew up in Phalaborwa, Limpopo. After I completed my matric at Frans du Toit High School in 2008 I moved to Potchefstroom to further my studies in Software Development. I then completed a three-year study and graduated with a BSc Computer Systems Degree.
In 2014 I moved to Pretoria and started working as a sales representative at a company named Micro Robotics for 2 years. My job required me to assist clients with their purchase and help with managing all out going orders. There I also gave support with customer queries regarding email and website modifications.
Why BSc Computer Systems
After completing Grade 9 I had to choose which classes I would take for my remaining three years in high school, from which one was Information Technology. I did not know then what it would pertain but I developed a passion for programming after writing my first bit of code and seeing it work.
How I Got My Internship
Through word of mouth I came to know about GWConnect and submitted my CV on their website after which Outex made contact with me and arranged for an interview. I was then appointed as an Intern Developer.
I am enjoying my current job as it allows me to further my understanding of programming and help me learn new technologies every day. Everyone at Outex is very friendly and it has a very relaxed work environment.
